How to get in touch
ToolMaple is a personal project. There is no support desk and no contact form, just an inbox that one person actually reads. Write to the address below and it will get a reply.
Response time
This is maintained in spare time, not as a job, so expect a reply usually within a few days. Busy stretches can make that longer. If a tool is producing a wrong answer, put the word urgent in the subject line and it moves to the front of the queue.
What to include in a bug report
A report with these five things can usually be fixed the same day. One that says only “the calculator is wrong” cannot.
- The page: the full address, for example /en/tools/bmi.
- What you entered: the exact values or text, since most bugs only show up on one particular input.
- What you got and what you expected: both numbers, and where the expected one comes from.
- Your browser and device: Chrome on Android, Safari on an iPhone, and so on. Rendering bugs are often specific to one of them.
- A screenshot: optional, but it settles layout and character rendering questions instantly.
Messages that are welcome
- A result that disagrees with an authoritative source, with a link to that source
- A character that renders as a box, or a platform that started stripping one
- Display problems: a button you cannot tap, a layout that breaks on a phone
- A tool you wish existed, described with the situation you would use it in
- Wording, grammar and terminology mistakes in the English pages
- Accessibility feedback
What I cannot help with
- Professional advice on medical, legal or financial matters. Please speak to someone qualified in that field, as the disclaimer explains.
- Running a calculation for your individual case. Use the tool, and its answer is the answer.
- Link exchanges, guest posts, paid placements and traffic swaps.
